Common mistakes, and how to help
Children often mix up factors and multiples — factors are the numbers that divide in (and are never bigger than the number), multiples are what you get counting up (and are never smaller). For GCF vs LCM, remember GCF is a factor (so it’s small) and LCM is a multiple (so it’s larger). Listing them out before answering avoids most errors.
