Division Practice & Worksheets
Free, interactive division practice for grades 3–5 — play a mixed review here or pick a skill below, with sharing-model pictures for facts and a printable worksheet for every skill.
Practice all of division
This mixed review blends division facts, divisibility checks and the start of long division so you can find the weak spot quickly.
How to learn division, in order
Division is the inverse of multiplication, so the Division Facts come first and lean directly on the times tables — if multiplication facts are shaky, strengthen those alongside. Next come Remainders (division that doesn’t share out evenly) and the full Long Division algorithm in grades 4–5. Divisibility Rules are handy shortcuts that also support simplifying fractions later.
Division by grade
- Grade 3: the meaning of division and the basic facts.
- Grade 4: remainders and the start of long division.
- Grade 5: multi-digit long division and divisibility rules.
Common mistakes, and how to help
In long division the usual trouble is losing track of the steps (divide, multiply, subtract, bring down) or misplacing digits in the quotient. A steady rhythm — saying the four steps aloud — and keeping columns lined up on grid paper prevents most errors. For facts, link each one to its times-table partner.

Frequently asked questions
Is the division practice free?
Yes — all practice and worksheets are free, with no account needed and no ads inside the practice.
What order should division be learned in?
Facts first (they mirror the times tables), then remainders, then long division, with divisibility rules as a useful add-on.
How are division and multiplication related?
They’re inverses — 12 ÷ 3 = 4 because 3 × 4 = 12. Strong times tables make division facts fast.
What are the steps of long division?
Divide, multiply, subtract, bring down — then repeat. Saying them aloud in order helps children keep their place.
What is a remainder?
The amount left over when a number doesn’t divide evenly — 17 ÷ 5 is 3 with a remainder of 2.
Can I print division worksheets?
Yes — each skill page has a print button for a fresh 20-question sheet with an answer key.
